Konata Izumi is the protagonist from the manga and anime series Lucky Star. Konata is the classic definition of an otoku. She only reads manga, or the novel adaptation of one, she watches only anime, she listens to dramatic readings of manga and to anime themes, eats raman all day every day, and works in a Japanese Costume Café where she plays Haruhi Suzumiya from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. She is very childlike and playful, even though she is a fourth-year student. And, she loves to egg on her friend Kagami and get her all in a frenzy.

Konata is extremely funny, and provides the punch-line in any joke. Also, her mannerisms are very cute, and induce laughter at every turn. She can always be found ignoring her school work in favor of eating raman, reading manga, or playing her GameBoy. She gets into all kinds of funny situations, and cause everyone to laugh and have a good time. That’s just her personality, and everyone loves her for it.
